Press Conference with All American Rejects, Five For Fighting and The Wanted for Arthur's Day

No comments :
In just a few hours Arthur's Day by Guinness will present probably a line-up that many would enjoy as it aims to target the different genre of music lovers.

Manage to drop by the press con this morning to meet the acts up close.

It was nice to hear them talk and each of them had such rich personality.

The unique voice behind AAR's catchy tunes caught my attention as soon as he walked out with a lollipop in his mouth which I assume is Chupa Chups Caramel.

Tyson from AAR has such a character that you can't help but just laugh whenever he decides to speak, it's funny that he seems like that really cheeky guy in your group of friend's constantly poking fun at the Emcee Serena as well as answering the question in such a descriptive manner. Thanks for calling Malaysia, a nice community Tyson! :)

When John of Five For Fighting answers the many questions, it's always a thought provoking process as it is both light heart-ed and meaningful as he discuss his many projects that aims to better people's lives. A song writer and musician at heart, I can't wait for the moment when we will be singing the chorus of Superman and 100 years together.

As expected that the Wanted was bombarded with a series of rather personal questions that left them blushing and smiling happily, it will be interesting to see what they can pull off this time since it's their third time here now. :)

The big men behind GAB, Haans and Bruce couldn't rub those cheerful smiles off their face, feeling their excitement is probably the best symbol that tonight is going to be a good night!

All 3 of the acts promise an endless flow of good music tonight so be sure to get there early and enjoy great music with a pint of Guinness!

Five for Fighting's piano ballads, the rocking sounds of All American Rejects and *girl shriek from afar* The Wanted. It's going to be great tonight so head on over early to catch all the performance and a few glasses of draft Guinness. :)

Movie Review: Runner Runner (2013)

1 comment :

Title: Runner Runner
Language: English
Genre: Action/Crime/Drama
Running Time: 90 Minutes

Synopsis:
When a poor college student who cracks an online poker game goes bust, he arranges a face-to-face with the man he thinks cheated him, a sly offshore entrepreneur. He is then spiraled into a world where gambling, drugs and bribery are happening around him and he is trapped in between.

What do I think about it:-

When films such as these are shown in the cinema, you can't help but wonder what kind of quarter assed mentality was present to create such a cowardly bad film.

You have a somewhat famous class plus a modern day casino-like theme and it gets screwed up from the first 10mins all the way till the end with lazy open ended scripts and a generally bad direction of filming.

Boring and anti climatic are understatements and you would soon wonder to what sort of extend of an idiot that the film makers take the audience for?

Get ready for 90 minutes of anti-climatic chases, bogus dialogues that make no sense and a storyline that is so monotoned and actionless that does no one justice and whatever budget used to made this movie must have been laundered somewhere else. -_-.

Plus, Ben Afflect was obviously trying very hard not to laugh at his scenes and what kind of gangster thug boss would try guys into a pond full of crocodile and then pulls him up and say he was just kidding.

Nothing in this film is worth remembering or worth your time thinking as well.

Rating: actually, this film deserves no rating but if needed it would be 0/5

" So you are sitting there waiting from some really evil plan to use the main protagonist as a scape goat and hoping for some really clever plot twist to catch the real crook but ends up learning that money can just do everything."

#runnerrunner logic, I am a powerful bad guy with money n stuff, when i throw u in pond with crocs and bring u back out and say sorry.

#runnerrunner logic, I am king of the land but i only got 2 notable bodyguards to keep and eye on a possible betrayer.

#runnerrunner logic, I don get to sleep with the girl who is always by my side but i fly with her everywhere.

Roam Free On This Beautiful Planet With Digi Internet Roaming

3 comments :

I know a few friends and a few more people on my social timeline who are always travelling around and as I too start to have my fair bit of travelling to other countries I found that I have a sort of phobia that is probably a withdrawal from the habits that have become my life which is mainly social media and the need to always stay connected.

That need to share endless stream of pictures online and to loved ones ( even though it might seem like bragging) is an itch that won't be satisfied if I can't get worry free mobile data overseas. All the things i would miss and the family oh the family! XD

I mean who wouldn't wanna share pics like this right?

The option of using your country's network roaming seems to be a security issue altogether with news of extra charges and un-capped expenses thanks to the lack of transparency in roaming data charges. It's no surprise that people still feel shaky to use em abroad, I am one of those shaky people.

I guess many telco would be working hard to address this issue and to lower the roaming charges for everyone's convenience and it seems that My Digi which is also my preferred telco seems to be tackling this issue right now.

The charges goes something like this:-

Data usage of 3MB and above will be charged at a flat rate (daily max cap) of RM32/RM36/RM56 per day.

Data usage less than 3MB will be charged at:

· RM10.66/MB with 10kb charging block for RM32/day
· RM12/MB with 10kb charging block for RM36/day
· RM18.66/MB with 10kb charging block for RM56/day

The rates are a bit different countries.

So it seems that if you just want to use it to whatsapp your family and loved ones back home you can opt for the per MB charging blocks which could ultimately save you at least RM15 each day. The convenience of communication amazes me every single day.

Besides~ A picture via whatsapp or MMS is about 60kb ( you gotta to do the setting) so 1MB could sent about 15 pictures so 3 selcas, 3scenery, 3 random and 2 "i am here" pics to send over is more than enough right? :)

You can even access Trip Advisor and read up on the best places in a jiffy! XD

I guess i will be using Digi Roaming the next time I head overseas. Less worry and more connectivity.

Oh I miss Taiwan so much! T.T . Want to go there again soon!

TTS Weekly: Airbnb Initiates A Short Film Made Entirely By Vines Video

No comments :
TTS Weekly will be my personal commitment towards sharing interesting things that are going around the world. It's purely based on my personal stand point as of how interesting the things that will shared is going to be.

TTS Weekly stands for Things To Share Weekly or some may want to call it TiTS for let's not go there alright? Still looking for someone to do the logo design so if you feel like contributing do let me know! :D

The share for this week comes in the form of Vine videos and was compiled by editors with sources from the twittersphere. The message was relayed and many jumped in to shoot the scenes which was then ultimately edited to this 4 and a half minute short film.
The sketches that were posted for responses.

The story follows a piece of paper as it goes through some of the things that a paper faces in it's vicious cycle and somehow it reflects how our life experience the same hardships as well as the good times.

Here is the video now.

You can read about the whole idea here:

Nokia Lumia 925, Great Low-Light Camera Photos And An All Around Ace

1 comment :
Setting Aside Urban Legends
We look at things with an open mind and with that we should also erase the mindset that Nokia is out of the big player league. That mindset is voided here as Nokia’s Lumia series is rapidly gaining attention and speedily increasing its user base. A few snap shot of what people think of #nokialumia925 is more than enough to see them as a formidable competitor in this ever growing mobile industry.

Sourced from various internet websites and twitter feed.

Nokia is no stranger to the mobile world and despite lagging behind the smart phone few years ago, a smart bounce with Windows OS has led them to be a formidable opponent in the field and with the latest news of the acquisition by Microsoft, I have only good words to say and a heart full of anticipation in years to come.
A particular phone model came to my hands and I have been using it for the past month, complete sync with the usage and phone’s very own ecosystem, the first impression for Nokie Lumia 925 was simple, sleek and a friend.

System- The thing that keeps your phone going!
Source: Todayphone

Starting off with the technical specs of the phone would be its processor. A Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, dual core 1.5 Ghz. Thought it might not as high performance then some of the competitor in its market but the difference lies in its windows OS that removes all the excessive processes and “multitasking” capabilities of rival OS and focuses on a more effective “multitasking” formula that stops overlapping apps and increase battery standby time as well.
My experience with the Windows OS has been trouble less, almost smooth with its sleek transition module. However the need for the “loading...” prompt every time an app launches seems to be a turn off at it gives the impression that the phone might be slow on buffer time but it is actually the same with competitor phones.

Design- The star attraction of any phone at first glance.

I could say that the Lumia 925 balances premium design with the practicality of a sturdy built, with the aluminium sides acting as the chasis for the phone with a 4.5” Gorilla Glass and a polycarbonate ( the kind they use to make helmets) back case. Nokia Lumia 925 gives the feeling of “steady”.
The screen itself is super clear, promising awesome HD playback and an altogether crystal clear vision of your phone.
Available in Black, White and Grey in which I was severely disappointed as the other phone models are very vibrant in color that is super attractive, it would be great if they could add in those as well.

Maps- You won't get lost now, Adventurers!
A direct competitor of Google maps but with a rather strong USP that rivals it and giving it a strength to be on par in the race for the best navigation tool!
The big advantage HERE maps has over Google Maps is the ability to download the whole map and use it offline, a life saver for users who lack data plan or trapped in a data-less black hole.

HERE maps comes with a strong social element where you can customize your favourite spots and recommend it to your closest pals, imagine sharing your best coffee spots or the cheapest drinking hole around town and meeting every other week for a chill out session, planning outings would be easy as 1,2,3.

The other great feature in HERE maps would definitely be the LIVE Traffic updates that is sure to be a necessity for the urbanites that risk bumping into traffic jams every other hour. Unlike Waze, HERE maps records data of the speed of how other users are travelling and instantly calculate the condition of the road. ( If 5 or more users are going at 10km or less, that area will be a jam zone in which you can avoid at ease)

HERE maps has a team based in Malaysia Nokia that constantly updates the geographical terrains of the roads and gives the most accurate map that boils down to the longkang alley behind your house. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Camera- Memories last forever
The crème of Lumia 925 is the super Smartphone camera, I was probably most impressed with this as it takes in great low-light photos with AND without flash.
I go to the clubs very often and it is always great to be able to take great looking pictures within the dark compound and Lumia 925 is able to capture those moments with great clarity. Be it group shots or selfies, the Lumia 925 is great for all the moments that light up your life!
Here are some of the examples that will be able to impress.

A pint of Guinness anyone?

Blue poring with legs!

The magnificent one tower of KLCC

Friends are a must at any event

Great festival installation for awesome times

Meeting up with you favourite stars

Join vibrant events

Attend crazy concerts

A genuine night of good music, good fun and a camera to take rememberable pictures!

Every moment of a life can be captured brilliantly, shared creatively and cherish indefinitely.

Interface- The core of how you use your phone.

Neowin.net - Here is some of the things you can do with the Windows Mobile 8 OS on the Lumia 925

Live tiles are the heart and soul of the Lumia 925’s functionality, it’s customizable size and the ability to have live notifications on individual tiles give you a full view of your daily activities.
Plan your events, know how many messages your received, never a call you forget to recall are just some of the things you can do with the live style.
Your apps come to live on the screen as you scroll through the various things that are essential to your lifestyle, calendars; social networks are all just at the tip of the lockscreen.

Apps
The apps store has been growing fast and gaining more developer attention, Windows give a thorough filter on its market and keeping only the most reliable and effective app for each use. While it might be a turn off to tech savvy wizards but it’s good news for the ones who just wants to stay connected in the easier manner.
There is definitely a lot more to improve on the app database because tech is constantly evolving and the sense of security of having apps that will help that growth is always a touch point for most users.
GOOD NEWS for insta freaks though! Even though Instagram has yet to be available, there is an app that fulfils this purpose.

Connects you to Instagram and lets you do the same as you are on the official app and provides quite sleek interface to give you a fresh take on the familiar Instagram.

The Nokia Lumia 925 excels in its promise of great camera, fantastic performance and a firmer solid build. While the app store needs lots of improvement and a faster processor might be more reassuring, The Nokia Lumia 925 isn’t a phone that will disappoint its user and is ready to be used by anyone from 18 all the way to the golden ages, simple stylish and an interface that allows it to do the thing that all mobile was initiated to do, CONNECTING PEOPLE. ( I think this was Nokia’s old tagline, still like it)
