The Dark Knight Rises 2012

What's it about:
I really don't think I have to say more about this, it's the end of the trilogy by Christopher Nolan who did a splendid job of turning this iconic hero into one of modern day movies greatest comic to movie franchise.

Set 8 years after the previous movie, we know take a look at the emotional conflict that Bruce Wayne fights with himself. From a city that was labeled to be in the Peace zone. Struggling on whether the need for Dark Knight was necessary and grieving over the death of the ones he cared about.

What I would say about it:
To begin with, let's get it out away that Anne Hathaway is hot. There! Done!

As this highly anticipated and carefully marketed movie over the past year. I think I might have over estimated Nolan's interest in ending this Dark knight chronicles with a huge bang!

In fact, despite the twists and the flow of the story i felt that Nolan was lazy, and kind lost interest in rounding up all the loose ends to create one singular story and just one clear line for a possible continuation of the dark knight.

He has taken for granted that the audience is already of aware what the dark knight is capable of and that he will no matter what prevail. I find no serious reason for Bruce to actually pick up the cape once again, the spark that lighted his interest to put on the mask again was because of a thief, this led me to believe that he was not serious in NOT BEING the DARK KNIGHT again? *Basically he already decided to be Bat man again after 8 years even before Bane was seriously taken into consideration.*

Throughout the chaos that unfolds in this dramatic end, there was something that didn't feel right, there was something that was stopping me from announcing that this was indeed a great end.

Finally I figured out why, it was mostly Christian Bale's fault, if I would want to be harsh, I would say that he did not take the whole film serious at all and considering the screen time he got as Bruce Wayne you could understand why. I did not feel sorry for Bruce, heck I didn't even feel his angst when he was helpless.

The story was ok, but the involvement of one too many characters made it suffocating to be fully engaged in it. I felt like I was drowning in a pool.

Plot holes were everywhere in which I blamed once again for Nolan's decision to end this with a trilogy and ultimately limiting his own capabilities to create at least one more movie thus causing the film to be " explaining too much over just one timeline"

As for the SFX and FX , I am definitely getting the OST on my playlist as i felt that it was as good as it gets, intense and capturing. As for the FX, it was actually quite limited following up to a certain explosion that disappointed me a little. Bat gadgets were used and I find the bat cycle still the best!

But don't get me wrong, you still MUST watch the movie, it is still a great ride into the final chapter of this great saga and you won't be disappointed.

I am merely gauging bias towards my own expectation.

If I could take one character out of the movie, who will it be?
I did not see a real need for Cat woman to be in it, taking her out would further put on the burden that the dark knight needs to shoulder which would probably intensify the engagement that will pull in and finally anchored the dark knights ever faithful supporters

Critic Mode:
"To sum it all up, there were plot holes that could have been better explained, characters that needed a little better development and it needed an anchor to tie it all up in which I think I am really asking too much. It is still a great franchise end and it was a really good run. It would be pretty hard to find another reboot to even reach the dark knights heights."benjaminfoo of
