Letter From The Future

Dear Benjamin,

I am writing this from a future not too far from now, and I would like to say that I am very proud of what you have achieved so far as of now.

Now that I look back, I really think we have a lot of people to thank that shaped us up to how we are now.

From the days of 2001 till the end of 2011 , It's been 10 years since you met with my best friends, and from then on you have met many more people who has drastically change you to who you are now.

Shine Shine Car Wash and Nano Fresh Treatment

2 comments :
I own a Proton Iswara , second hand and 10 years old.

I name it dog dog or rather 狗狗, which also means doggy la.

Don't question my naming sense, it's very exquisite.

Hehe.

So being a second hand car and rarely washed I took the opportunity to give my beloved car a good washing and try one of those sterilizing fog things that are all the craze now.

The place I went to was located at the  Giant, Kota Damansara. It's one of those Car Park car wash services that lets you shop around while your car gets treated.

Here is the franchise that I went to.

Flying Swords Of Dragon Gate 2011

1 comment :

"In a time where the feudal lords of west and east fight to gain supremacy over the legion under the emperor, the civilians are caught in the power struggle and an outlaw fights for his own justice to eliminate all lords one by one"

Cast:
I was relieved that Jet Li actually took a better role then his super saiya monk movie "The sorceror and The White Snake". He was decent in this movie though most of the action was cg-fied, although it mimicked the movements well but we would never forget his valiant martial arts in Fearless and Wong Fei Hung.

Someone else that you might take notice of is Kwai Lun-mei or 桂纶镁 , known for her role in the movie "secret or 不能說的秘密" whom she plays the lover of Jay Chou. She has certainly become an eye candy and her potential as an actress has certainly blossomed since those times. Even with her dirty tribal princess gimmick she looks stunning and cool at the same time. I am her fan now. woots!

Story:
A pretty straight forward story at the beginning but later on it developed into something too complicated for the normal audience.

It brought in the influence of an old chinese legend regarding a tavern in the the middle of the dessert that disappears and reveals a lost castle and treasures of an old kingdom.

A struggle for power turned into a treasure hunt and a subtle love story in between.

There was certainly too many things going on and the whole thing lack character development assuming the audience to just make one up.

Execution:
A movie that prides itself by shooting in full 3D, I believe the movie is only available in 3D, so it's gonna cost you more to watch it in Malaysia.

I am never a fan of 3D but they did a decent work on it at the beginning but towards the end it was either sloppy or unneeded because when you have swords flying here and there in front of your eyes you dunno what is happening.

As the for the fight choreography, it was very very very good. Thrilling even!

Gibberish:
Certainly not the worst hong kong martial arts movie of the year cause we know where that award went.

They really need to stop chasing after hollywood and start to come back to their roots of classic martial art movies.

Would certainly be better if they focus more on a few dialogues then just running and flying and fighting around.

Wrapping it up:

If you like hong kong martial movie, this one is recommended but there are a few more better ones through out the year. Still the best in this last 3 months of the year.

Rating: 3/5

Watchable rating: 3/5

Critic Mode:

"The script could be improved to ensure a smoother transition between scenes, the fight scenes are impressive and the different fighting styles are very unique as well.".benjaminfoo of benjaminfoo.com

Heineken Party Moments- the time that matters!

8 comments :
Christmas is just around the corner, the truth is that I have not been feeling much about it.

Christmas and New Year are just over the week and I feel gloomy.

So one day I just thought "screw this I am going to throw a party with friends".

Uncle Google is very useful at locating great venue for beer parties, and I landed on this website.

http://www.the-beer-factory.com/

Everything about here is right, located in the middle of Sunway Giza a very happening location, near my place and it's also easy to get parking.

But the best part is that they serve Heineken beer, the premium beer which is also one of the favourite beer in my list and many of my friends as well.

Onde Onde at Waterfront Desa Park City

4 comments :
After finishing work one fine day, one fine Selangor holiday which I don't get to enjoy cause my company is situated conveniently behind the KL Selangor Borders.*sulk*

I drove down to Waterfront @ Desa Parkcity.

It's fairly simple to get there.

Go towards the Kepong Ldp toll, pay rm1.60 keep left but straight on the highway and make a U turn under the flyover.

Keep Left and turn left at the first turning and you will be going up hill, there will be a round about in front in which you make a 3 o'clock turn and go along the road till you see an open park.

Waterfront is actually a building of food and a little shopping leisure situated within the park.

In the morning you can go on an outing like below

Addar Arab Express

10 comments :
Essential to any cooking in the Arabian Peninsula is the concept of hospitality and generosity. Meals are generally large family affairs, with much sharing and a great deal of warmth over the dinner table.

Formal dinners and celebrations generally involve large quantities of lamb, and every occasion entails large quantities of Arabic coffee.

In an average Gulf Arab state household, a visitor might expect a dinner consisting of a very large platter, shared commonly, with a vast amount of rice, incorporating lamb or chicken, or both, as separate dishes, with various stewed vegetables, heavily spiced, sometimes with a tomato based sauce.

Most likely there would be several other less hearty items on the side. Tea would certainly accompany the meal, as it is almost constantly consumed. Coffee would be included as well.- Wikipedia

Yippee Cup - Drinks of all sorts!

6 comments :
Yippee Cups takes pride on being around since 2001 and I can definitely remember it's presence.

My friends and I use to chill here all the time during our secondary school times.

The One Utama branch (now no more) was our best hang out spot when waiting for movie time!

Coming back here sure bring back memories.

This time I have a chance for a taste of their revamped menu and of newly renovated shop and concept.

What's Going on?

We ‘R’ Malaysia - There Is Hope, The Musical is at first, a brief travel back in time through the history of the Chinese in Malaysia. From the first and second waves of Chinese initially arriving in the 1400’s and later in the late 1800’s, the story continues to the struggle for Independence. Merdeka marks a turning point in Chinese sentiments towards Malaya. With origin initially rooted in homeland China, the post Merdeka Chinese generation are now granted citizenship, and make Malaya their new home.

Lunch at Qube Salon with a cafe on top

3 comments :
Recently went to lunch at a pretty unique place.

It's name was Qube Salon. Well you can call it Qube Cafe as well.

Confused?

Well it is a rather nice hair salon at the ground floor, and just a walk up stairs you see will get a very homely cafe.

Didn't take much picture because there were a lot of people. Don't want to disturb their quiet lunch.

I really like the atmosphere. Very peaceful and calm.

Despite the amount of working people here. I felt like I was having a cozy tea time.

After a busy morning at work, it was really peaceful and calm to have my lunch there <3

The Kitchen is open for all to see, very homely feel

anime review: To Aru Majutsu No Index

No comments :

To Aru Majutsu No Index
Running time: 24 minutes per episode
Number of episodes: 24
Opening Theme:
#01: "PSI-missing" by Mami Kawada
#02: "masterpiece" by Mami Kawada
Ending Theme:
#01: "Rimless~フチナシノセカイ~" by IKU
#02: "Chikaigoto ~Sukoshi Dake Mou Ichido~ (誓い言~スコシだけもう一度~)" by IKU

What’s it about:
Set in a city of scientifically advanced superhuman students, but in a world where magic is also read. Touma Kamijo or main hero’s right hand is named the Imagine breaker, a power that negates every supernatural, magic or godly power. One day he finds a girl who turns out to be from a church of England, named index because of her perfect memorization, it allowed her to memorize all 103,000 grimoires(ancient magic spell books) by the word.
Index only has 1 year of memory in each cycle due to the fact that the 103,000 grimoires in her brain takes up 85% of her brain , and if her memory isn’t erased every one year her brain would explode and she would die or so it is thought to be.

What’s special?
Supernatural power or espers in this anime are psychic powers that were scientifically implanted into student’s brain to provide a skill also known as power users. They live in a city called academy city which consists of every education known and also a special ground to flourish those powers.
Magical power or magic users are those who didn’t have the physical body to sustain such psychic powers started to experiment on cults and symbols to have their own say in the world as well, Thus splitting them into two major factions.

What’s interesting?
Memory plays a key plot in this anime, and the powerlessness of certain people who wanted to save their dearest friends but couldn’t because they are often under the illusions that the methods they have at the moment are the best.
A second season will be out oct 2010, following where the anime left and exploring more into the world of magic and psychic.

Anime rating
Manliness: 3/5
Concept: 3/5
Arts: 3.5/5
Coolness: 2/5
Overall : 2.8/5

City Golf @ Bangsar Shopping Complex ~ an indoor golfing experience

4 comments :
When you talk about golf, there is always one name that rings in your mind. Mr Tiger Woods.

I always perceived Golfing as a rich man's game cause you gotta be in a club with a big field to do so.

I always heard that there are golf simulators but thought it would be a big difference from the real thing.

But here I was having a go at it at City Golf Bangsar Shopping Complex.

The setting is very cozy, you got you couch and a small are which is yours the period of time you book it for.

I guess there is always that moment,

When u look around, and you notice the happy faces u see, hides a sad and suffering heart.

You cant do anything bout it.

No matter how much you want to help, the decisions are theirs to make .

So sometimes standing there looking at ur friends pain and suffering or the complications that u might or might not know .

Sometimes it just feels like this through my eyes.

A visit to the dentist

16 comments :
Well I am sure SOME of you know that I have been making trips to the dentist over at the local university hospital or some people like to call it PPUM.

The reason is for check up and treatment, my dentist and her partner are students so they are using my teeth as one of their subjects (guinea pig sial) so everytime I come, they will check my teeth one by one.

I don't really mind because I like how healthy my teeth are. ^^

So my appointment was 10 am, took a few hour off from work to get here.

This is my second visit, the first one was a bit awkward, but now it's a bit friendlier .

7aste Moscow @ Laundry Bar , Curve

7aste is probably and event where they bring in delicacies from a foreign city and let you experience the flavor of a different nation.

I guess that would probably be the initial idea.

This was my first 7aste event, even though I was really looking forward to it cause I missed the previous few. It was my first, and sadly it left quite a bad taste in my mouth.

But as I always say, things always go well when you are with good company. and so we did have loads of our fun, not because of 7aste but ourselves.

Dear readers, I present to you, A Night at 7aste, Curve.

Thanks to Overtime and Shaun Damien for his last minute invitation.

I was able to attend this workshop of cocktail mixing at twenty one kitchens and bar located at Changkat Road. I was pretty proud to be able to get there without getting lost.

I think I am beginning to understand KL roads more, thanks to my many trips to KL Live.
