hot hot CNY

1 comment :
with CNY being around the corner, one would always remember the tok tok chiang songs that swarm around the neighbourhoods on the first day of the CNY.

For us in the Advertising industry, its an arsenal of new CNY themed advertisements mainly commercials.
Petronas has always been known for generating meaningful messages for the seasons let it be CNY, or Hari Raya or Deepavali and even Christmas.

i m definitely looking forward to those commercials but since TV is not available in Kampar i would have to wait till i get home.

for 22 years of my life, i always celebrate CNY with my family, i would follow my mom everywhere for the CNY period, all the aunties and uncles house, her friends house. everywhere. and this year would be the same too.

Gulliver's travel 2010

No comments :

Movie in a glimpse
Lemuel Gulliver(Jack Black) a mailroom operator for ten years in a magazine company took a step closer to his crush at the editorial department when pushed by the fact that nothing could get worst in his slacker and scared to take another step life finds himself travelling to the bermuda triangle for a article on its tourism values. Swept away in a storm Gulliver finds himself on an island of tiny tiny people, Liliput , a series of incidents and courageous act followed.

My talk:
Forgive me about the tendency of cutting my synopsis short up there, the truth is after the first paragraph even you already expected what would have happened.
Such predictability is very common in today’s plot and Jack Black is very well in the black hole of such plots, being an comedic actor in various other movies has put Jack in a comfort where he still plays the same character over and over again, a good for nothing turn in to a not so good for nothing man. (no hero here guys).

The movie provides a bit of a cg setting with the waves u see in the trailer but gives less than a handful of jokes and laughs, I have been fighting with myself as to how I would at least find some good sense in the movie but none was found absolutely none. It was so lame that it didn’t even offer a laugh to me for being lame.

Overused clich├ęs like putting out fire with your wee wee when u are big enough to do so and crap like dat, here might be a few puns in the movie but I couldn’t recall it even though I did laugh at some part.

The most disturbing and annoying part of the movie was the huge amount of product placement in it, Apple Iphone being the most repulsive one.And the ending of the movie totally annoyed me.

Favorite scene:
Spoiler Alert
Lemuel hits pause on his guitar hero on the island

Favorite Quote:
Spoiler Alert
Lemuel: i am also known as awesome? (vaguely remember)

Stamped and mailed:
Find yourself to be utterly disappointed after watching it, but you are able to find amusing then u are one of the very lucky few and u should watch more movies.

Jack Black needs an exit strategy fast.

Meet The Parents, Little Fockers

No comments :

Movie in a glimpse
A third installment to the Meet The Parent franchise, this movie brings the family up to the Children’s phase. A health problem led Jack (De Niro) to start pondering about the future welfare of his family and his daughter’s as well. A heavy burden was brought on to the shoulders of Gaylord Focker (Ben Stiller) his son in law which brings forth a series of mishaps and misunderstanding a long the way.

My talk:
Firstly, if you want to get the best out of the movie u would probably need to watch the previous two because most of the jokes are long running ones that have a base set up strongly in the previous installments , even though there were some funny moments in the show it didn’t struck me as a good enough movie let alone for it to be released during the Christmas season . A comedy family movie that didn’t warm any heart and soul of the audience I must say, the jokes were predictable and popping in front of my face like its forcing me to laugh.

I did laugh out loud at some parts but mostly due to the fact of the name Focker which after three movies really starts to feel like they are actually saying fucker now.

The movie went in a way that the plot still focused on the relation between Jack and Gay while it clearly should be using the Kids as the main problem the family is having at the moment.

Weak jokes and plot messed it up more than ever this time as the chemistry between De Niro and Ben clearly dropped.

Favorite scene:

Spoiler alert
The part where Focker junior drew a picture of Ben injecting into the penis of De Niro when asked to draw a picture that reminds him of them.

Favorite Quote:

Spoiler Alert
When Gay told his Dad that he didnt do anything with Alba his dad said, "son, we're Fockers we don't do that sort of thing.

Stamped and mailed:
A movie with a few laughs but probably great for the baby boomer audiences, nothing special but a movie that has clearly overstayed in the active movie industry. Watch it with your parents and aunts, they would have some laugh.

Ted: Ideas worth spreading

No comments :
TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences -- the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Oxford UK each summer -- TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and Open TV Project, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.- taken from the Ted offical site

The day i found out about Ted, was the day my world really changed , it didnt matter to wat degree it changed me . It turned my world around to the extend that i actually found a new meaning to my own life. You see the idea of the big question. "What is life" could be related to the other big question "what is my purpose here" at a time where in just only 10 years the world population went up by a billion.where smartphone sales rocketed in just 2 years and has become one of the essentials in life on par with the internet and laptops and computers.

However, sooner or later we would all fall into corporate monstrosities in which u would be wearing ties and a collared shirt for at least 30 years, and thus we wanna break out from the vicious cycle and yet it is hard.

what would we be doing? what are our options?how can it be done?

Ideas! ideas from everywhere! no matter how bizarre, no matter how impossible u think it would be, or how people would laugh at u or how society would reject u. Ideas is where we can start.

Ted talks are given by professionals and amateurs who have ideas that would open mind as to how these people thought of wat they were speaking out, let it be the methods to survive colleagues or the power of interactivities in the real and digital world. Ted has shown me that generating ideas and sharing them without fear is one asset that should always be cherished.

here are a few videos that can get u warmed up to the mission of Ted.: ( some probably u have watched it elsewhere)

the great thing about it is, u can get inspired to do literally anything if u lack inspiration.. right here !

tis is basically a "i m not drunk post" to show that i aint tipsy to teing (bernard's guardian force)

had a bit more den my usual dose of booze, but i was ok surprisingly.

new years eve was same old. just chilling for the night and wishing a happy new year to close friends and loved ones.

though things were to be different, somethings as i have anticipated will always be the same.

no matter how fast time flies i will always be joked at for the few reasons as ten years ago, up until now.

and the few friends i have would probably be the friends who will attend my funeral

so yea. its a great new year !
