Onde Onde at Waterfront Desa Park City

After finishing work one fine day, one fine Selangor holiday which I don't get to enjoy cause my company is situated conveniently behind the KL Selangor Borders.*sulk*

I drove down to Waterfront @ Desa Parkcity.

It's fairly simple to get there.

Go towards the Kepong Ldp toll, pay rm1.60 keep left but straight on the highway and make a U turn under the flyover.

Keep Left and turn left at the first turning and you will be going up hill, there will be a round about in front in which you make a 3 o'clock turn and go along the road till you see an open park.

Waterfront is actually a building of food and a little shopping leisure situated within the park.

In the morning you can go on an outing like below

On the evening you can also walk your dog or take a jog (wheee it rhymes!)

I parked my car and headed to the place in which I was invited to have a taste of their Nyonya delights.

The place was cozy enough with interior made to follow the grand designs of traditional baba & nyonya styles.

Baba&Nyonya also known as Peranakan are a clan of the Malaccan decendants.

Tony, Iris, Jia Yeen, Yeong Boon were also invited to try out the place.

After a short introduction from the manager we were then served with a wide variety of dishes available at the outlet.

Served with two drinks
Japanese Cucumber - Rm5.90
Kopi - Rm2.80

"Rather refreshing drink from the Japanese Cucumber with Assam fruit inside, sour yet brings a hint of sweetness, the coffee was pretty nice as well"

These Kuih are made daily by another source and brought fresh to the shop each day, if by any chance the Kuihs are not sold off, it will not be sold the next day.

"simple yet delightful, each Kuih is still fresh despite being made since morning, I like the Pulut Tai Tai the most!"

Toast with Kaya Made from Duck Egg + butter.

The different in this is that the Kaya is really smooth and fresh, the aroma from it is very strong and it is handmade with duck egg which is a very rare ingredient to be used for Kaya in Malaysia.

"Toast was made to be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, spread with kaya and butter it makes a really good tea time snack"

Once the appetizers are done we were then treated to a number of delicacies in which satisfied very much.

Assam Laksa can be found in different places but for the hardcore lovers everyone is finding for the best, Am I right?

Onde-Onde's Assam Laksa is made to taste like the northern region flavour and certainly did pretty good to obtain the flavour.

"It tasted good , one thing to watch out for is the temperature in which it will be serve if it's cold then it would ruin the whole experience."

Now Chee Cheong Fun is divided into a few types,

There is the sweet sauce type with the Chee Cheong Fun rolled up normally found in morning markets.

The type where you always find at Dim Sum Restaurants which we all like to call it Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun.

And then there is the Penang Chee Cheong Fun, the specialty of Penang Chee Cheong Fun is in it's Prawn Paste which is the dark sauce you see on top.

"The prawn paste was pretty decent and provided a good blend with the Chee Cheong Fun, the good about this dish was that, it was served warm to us, so it made the experience even better"

Curry Laksa
Curry Laksa is a pretty common dish in shops such as this, so it all goes down to how well your bowl of Curry Laksa cost and would it be good.

"Nothing special from this bowl of Curry Laksa, at least the ingredients was an acceptable amount"

Fried Rice
Another common dish, the fried rice, contains one prawn and scrambled eggs, this one is a mini version because it comes in a combo set which I will mention later.

"Taste is alright, but I wouldn't order this due to the price of it, generally I don't order fried rice above Rm 5 if I have a choice."

Prawn Noodle/ Hokkien Mee(penang)
Prawn Noodle here but this is called Hokkien Mee in Penang, for those who don know about this yet, now you learn something new. Hokkien Mee in Penang is call "dai lok mee"

They got put half a egg! I want full egg!

"The taste for this one is just ok ok, there is a kopitiam with a Prawn noodle shop in TTDI that is very good though."

Nasi Lemak Ayam
Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng is also very common in Malaysia and I am very happy with that because it is one of my all time favourite "go everywhere also must try" kind of food.

"The fried chicken taste just like the one the awesome uncle at my high school makes, tony who is my high school senior agrees. This is a all rounded good dish"-

Here is the Combo set that one can order for a taste of few dishes.

Combo A(Assam Laksa & Nasi Lemak Fried Chicken) - Rm 15.90
Combo B(Nyonya Curry Laksa & Fried Rice) - Rm15.90
Now last but not least we were served with desserts!

The Green Bean Sago and Sea Coconut are pretty normal but the Sago Gula Melaka was very special because it has Gluttinous Rice in it, so it gives a rather unique texture and taste.

"Like the Sago Gula Melaka  a lot! very nice and sweet."
